Some of the schools in the Big 12, don't match up to the candidates that have been discussed. Was A&M really the flagship institution of tx? This elitist attitude these institutions have is sickening. Funny thing is they'd rather see the conference implode versus expand. They've been stubborn from day 1 with the defections and balking at candidates when they were available.
Instead of saying, what do they have to bring if all have minuses, they need to be asking who has the biggest upside and most potential.

OU and the Big-12 are in a bad spot. The Big-12 cannot add any schools that add value to their television contracts. The networks will veto expansion leaving a breakup as the only option. It is not guaranteed that OU will get to automatically tag along on the coattails of UT. This next round of expansion is going to be about creating four balanced conferences. Putting Texas in the PAC-12 makes the most sense but OU isn't an AAU school and adds nothing to the television viewership or recruiting. They may end up in the SEC

OU would be better off as an independent.... OU wants to recruit nationally now anyway, get away from those Texas schools that target OU with their Texas players who are now regularily pummeling the Sooners.... The national recruits that OU gets have no idea how much any TEXAS school with TEXAS players loves to whup up on our entitled Crimson & Cream draped players....
So as a school that plays a national schedule with players recruited nationwide, OU will be just fine....

So, they figure this out after schools waste their time and resources meeting with the conference. What a bunch of azzholes.
