Mack and company were lazy recruiting the last few years and managed the roster poorly (see Sumlin, Kevin; OL and LB). The cupboard was imbalanced with some good players and some that were soft.
Charlies first two full years of recruiting have got us conservatively with two top 12 classes. Freshmen and sophomores. Look for the trend to go upward starting this season more likely towards the end.
Live it up believing Strong's an idiot and Texas will never be good again while it's all smooth sailing for you in the bottom half of the SEC. It's your last summer of delusion for awhile.

2. A&M has a a losing record to Bama and LSU since we joined the SEC. We have .500 record against Ole Miss and Auburn. We have a winning record (7-1) against Miss. State and Arkansas. So no, Miss State and Arkansas aren't our peers. We're better than they are. The only teams better than us since we joined are Alabama and LSU. Name a single team that would have a BETTER record against those two from the Big 12. You can't.
3. The non-conference schedule the first few years was a direct result of moving. We COULDN'T schedule anyone that great because there weren't any openings. Last year, we played an ASU team picked to contend for the New Year's Six and throttled them. We didn't know they'd turn out to be average, and neither did anyone else. Meanwhile, you're getting your ASS KICKED by everyone you play in OOC (none of whom are good either) AND teams like IOWA STATE. Yet here you are, actually talking ****. Unreal.
Keep convincing yourself that everything is great in Austin while A&M is over here "struggling." Keep harping on the last few seasons for Texas and losing to Iowa State. It sucked. It was embarrassing. Nobody at Texas sugar coats losing the way Aggies do. We spit it out and don't settle for losing by priding ourselves on how we support losing. We leave that to losers.
