Per his Twitter:


He's rated as the 83rd best player and 7th best safety per composite in the class of 2018. This is a huge loss as he was our highest rated commit and a damn good safety.

Based off of what we know, this probably has something to do with Jimbo not offering Leon after he flew up there for a visit or who Jimbo has decided to retain (or fire) from the staff.

Usually kids commit to a school, not a coach. Seems he was comitted to a coach. That's what breeds mediocrity.

He said it's not over yet and he hasn't met Fisher yet, so I'm not that worried. If he choses someone else, good luck to him. Fisher's recruiting is top notch so I'm not too worried about one safety anyways.

I don't get it. If he's not happy with jimbo, it's ok

Yup. Big loss right now, but can't blame him since he doesn't know if his position coach will even be there, let alone DC and HC.

Wouldn't be surprised to seem him recommit down the line though.

He needs to be committed to A&M and not Sumlin. If Jimbo thinks he has the potential to play defense for him then I'm sure he will get an offer. If not then good luck at baylor. I trust Jimbo.

You know why he decommited. He is not a fan of Fisher because he didn't offer him when Houston Fast visited FSU.

This is a 17-18 year old making a decision that will impact the rest of his life. It is totally reasonable and understandable to have mixed feelings particularly if it is a coach you haven't had much interaction with. His statement was well thought out. Seems like a good kid.

Here is to hoping he ends up back with the good guys.

Yes he already knew Sumlin was gone and he didn't open his recruitment the did he? No.

It isn't about Sumlin, he wants to make sure Fisher wants him and has a plan for him. Shoot Fisher probably didn't offer because he didn't think he could pull him away from Texas.

Smart move by him. I don't know why people think he is gone. After he talks to Jimbo he could very well still be an Aggie.

Not a smart move. Decommitting within hours of the new coach announcement? Wait and talk to the new coach, then decide. If you don't like what you hear, move on then. This move just creates drama if we add drama to it. The new coach will do what's best for the team, and that's good enough...

He could have been thinking things over as well ever since Sumlin was fired rather than just immediately decommitting when he got the news. He we get him back.

Settle down. He doesn't need to wait on Fisher...he could but no need to require or expect him to...

He said he is open to talking to Fisher, just let this play out.

Crazy to think some recruits wouldn't want to reevaluate decision with such a big change. Hopefully he will decide to recommit. Excellent prospect.
