We're going. We're also leaving right after halftime.
When you say awful attendance do you mean 90,000? Because it was only 5 or so years ago we had our first 90k game (Nebraska). Bet we have well over 90k this weekendCASHMONEYAGGIE2002 said:
Nebraska has had sellouts for 50 years b/c there is nothing else to do in Nebraska besides going to these games. People who live in Texas have tons of other activities to keep them occupied other than watching a game vs NMSU.
On another note, I don't know why we keep having these debates.
If the University keeps scheduling these crap games, awful attendance will persist.
Then you have the apologist who go on and on about how and why we need these games to 'rest' and to fund these minor FBS and FCS programs.
Its nonsense, but until you have a head coach and AD who agree to change the scheduling philosophy, we'll get more of the same and more games like Praire View where seats are empty.
Its the season tickets holders that get screwed the most..........Praire View, NMSU, etc is like attending NFL preseason games/scrimmages.
And no I don't mean we need 4 games vs Clemson type schools for OOC, just competitive games vs solid FBS schools.
Yep. Those with little kids might appreciate them more if they weren't at 6:30pm... if they need to drive home the same night.Bluecat_Aggie94 said:
Alums with families appreciate bargain games out of the September heat. Just sayin.
Didn't we already do away with socialism?!8T2 said:Not a socialist, huh? That's all well and good, but do you know who IS a socialist? Texas A&M Athletics. Who else? The Southeastern Conference. Yes, the conference shares revenue amongst the teams for the betterment of all. The very definition of socialism.txagssweetie2014 said:
Hate cupcake games. Like paying to see Mike Tyson in his prime fight a 15 year old girl. Not sporting. And yes, Appalachian St, blah, blah, blah. For every upset there are 20 wins. And mostly boring blowouts. We only get 12 games and I hate wasting 3 of them on cupcakes.
Glad fans are speaking with empty seats. Hope they change the attendance requirement (which they don't even enforce) from 15,000 to 30,000. This would cut the teams from 128 to 80. Then allow FBS to only play FBS.
I don't care about cupcakes finances. I'm not a socialist. There fans need to support them if they want to play.
The sooner people leave politics in the politics board the better off the football board will be.
ag-bq-seventy said:"Socialist." I don't that that word means what you think it means. Their team still has to suit up, play the game, and spend the next two weeks in the ice bath, ... and their players learn something by playing a better team. Their players deserve a little TV time, too. They practice just as had as anyone else. Distribution of revenues to all colleges would be "socialist," you know, like the TV revenues are in most conferences.txagssweetie2014 said:

And it's "their," not "there."
All teams play cupcakes (except, of course, the cupcakes that go 0-12). Get over it.

Seriously! The game was better when teams only scheduled 11 games. They ought to disallow games with FCS opponents

Do you expect them to play a power 5 every week.
No, but there are a sizable enough number of teams in the AAC and the Mountain West that we could schedule. Heck, right now, half of the Big 10 and 2/3 of the Big XII wouldn't be a bad deal.Amazing Moves said:

By solid FBS schools do you mean UCLA, with a 3-5 record? None of you probably know how demanding a season is on an athlete. Even against cupcakes they have to go out and perform. Many of you have forgotten the 08 loss to Arkansas State, which was supposed to be a "cupcake". A&M has the #15 SOS in the country what else do you want?CASHMONEYAGGIE2002 said:

I love how you say their fans need to support them, preceded by "I don't support this game."txagssweetie2014 said:
