Sorry to spoil this, but it's not Spurrier

I love the man but please no. Not sure why people want him. He hasn't been running the SC offense for some time and doesn't know the newer philosophies either.
lol yeah I'm sure just because you head coach that you know nothing about offensive philosophies.

How recently do you think he has been responsible for play calling?

If it was that easy Spav would have us in the NC this year, since you know, it's just a philosophy. And tu would be blowing everyone out, since it's that easy to just pick one up and adapt it to your players.

This is child's play. AggieRojo is Sumlin. Give him a raise!

Heck No. Does that guy look like he has a degree in engineering from Texas A&M? That he is retired and playing golf most days? That he consults once in a while when it interests him?
This sounds eerily similar to mfbarnes
I'm not as dedicated as the OP, but I compared mfbarnes posts to AggieRojo posts just from the search. Make your own call, but they're very similar.

Obviously money is not an issue to Spurrier. Two days ago.

quote:
According to The State, Steve Spurrier is reportedly considering taking an ambassador position with the University of South Carolina. If he accepts that role, Spurrier would be a special assistant to school president Harris Pastides and athletic director Ray Tanner.

The ambassador position would begin once Spurrier's official employment at South Carolina ends on Dec. 31. The former coach reportedly would receive a $100,000 annual salary.

My friends in low places tell me for PR purposes: maximum impact for A&M to make a HUGE announcement while all the talking heads are talking about the SEC Championship game and the playoffs. It will be just before or just after the SEC Championship game.

Bohl said one thing that made Mangino attractive was his background with Stoops and Snyder.

"That's like working with Aristotle and Plato," he said.

They say you can lead a horse to water.....

You are leaving out that old timey religion. Its very, very important in philosophy.

That's it. You'll have to wait until December for the new OC to be revealed. It will be HUGE.

From :Old-Time Religion Tillman was largely responsible for publishing the song into the repertoire of white audiences. It was first heard sung by African-Americans and written down by Tillman when he attended a camp meeting in Lexington, South Carolinain 1889.

So what I've gathered from this thread is that there are about 10 OC candidates who can be tied to every single one of the clues Rojo has given. Some are obvious candidates, some are not so obvious. Sounds like Rojo is 100% in the clear no matter who we choose..

This guy is going out on a limb for us!!!!

I mean, there are only a few more hurdles to clear, but if they aren't, we would never know because Rojo would claim that is the reason why this 'HUGE' hire didn't materialize.

Could HUGE be an acronym of some kind? Havent really seen that route explored yet.
I was thinking this as well. Either an acronym or split into HUG E, like Huggie but who knows what that could mean. As far as acronyms:

He
Used to be
Georgia
Employee

Or maybe all that front to back talk meant EGUH, and it's something "EG" from University of Houston. I give up.

Untrue. The emphasis on "huge" over and over means a splash hire. The reference to the coaching combination of Sumlin, Chavis and [TOUCHDOWN] implies a known name. The PR angle of the announcement coming before or just after the SEC CCG implies it will be noteworthy enough to be a topic beyond just an hour long crawl on ESPN.

So if none of that happens and the hire is greeted with a giant yawn????

Then, Rojo is 100% wrong.

I don't think the HUGE necessarily has to mean "splash hire" (though I hope it does). Rojo's first post said that the *name* is HUGE.

It could be a really long name. Huge was always written in caps, meaning it could be an acronym. Or it could just mean splash hire.

I am probably overanalyzing it at this point. Hope it's Spurrier, though.

Some coaches see eye-to-eye, others see visor-to-visor, and yet others see the writing on the wall.

Did we ever figure out what the 2 obstacles were? I figure 1 is what to do with Spav. The other might need to be: who is leaving, if not Spav.

If we bring someone on, we will definitely need to let someone go (or help them get hired away). To keep balance, I suspect it will have to be a coach on the offense. We just hired Moorhead and Christensen so I don't think it's either of those guys. Leaves Spav and McKinney.

I think, based on there being 2 obstacles according to Rojo, that McKinney will be the one leaving. Perhaps to take an OC job at a smaller program? I think Spav has recruited better (hard to argue since he will have brought in 3 5 star QBs when Martell gets here). I don't really know much about McKinney's recruiting though. If McKinney goes, I think Christensen takes over RBs and the OLine, Spav gets demoted back to QB coach but is mentored under the new OC. And then we go on to win lots of games.

normally I do not play Rojo's games. but after all these threads. If it is not Spurrier, especially after his last comment about visor to visor and "writing on the wall", then in my mind Rojo has no clue.

If it is Spurrier. give the the man his dues.

Who was their last good quarterback? How is their recruiting? Wasn't that was one of the main reasons he stepped down - he felt he was not as effective as a recruiter?

Now he's saying the announcement itself will be "huge". Which I assume means moves the needle for most people familiar with college football.

When Chavis was hired, that sent shock waves through the SEC for a variety of reasons. Foremost among those was his leaving traditional power LSU for the newcomer up-start Texas A&M. Second, was Chavis' reputation as not being a job hopper. The ensuing speculation on Miles' tenure is still reverberating almost a year later.

This has to be a troll. All clues point to Spurrier but I just can't see that happening. I want to believe, I really do.
