@DanWolken: Sumlin may never leave but get real. USC is a top-5 job. A&M is not. https://t.co/lVLMiqSQSg

To be honest, A&M is not even a top 5 job in the SEC.

I'd put A&M at #4 or #5

I'd go:
Florida, Bama, Georgia, Auburn, A&M/Tennessee
you could probably interchange auburn and Georgia if you're going to be picky

Sumlin is building his own top 5 job right here.
quote:Well, everybody doesn't define "nicer" the same way.
Why do these dumb twitter analysts think location is the #1 most important factor?
Of course LA is nicer than CS, but if that were the deciding factor, USC could get anyone they wanted in the SEC.
Sumlin is building an excellent program at A&M, he's got an excellent paycheck, in prime recruiting territory, just hired John Chavis, and plays in the SEC West.
Gah, USC just please hire someone so these internet doofuses shut up.

Just curious.. what makes a coaching job top 5?
Facilities? Access to top flight recruits? Pay? School/fan support?

I know who Sumlin is. I know who the last three guys that coached at USC are.
Who's this ****ing clown?

What makes Auburn a better draw than A&M? If anything, having to compete with the 800 lb gorilla in the same state makes it a less desireable job than having the staye to yourself lime you see with TN, LSU and A&M. I am not even sure I would say that Florida is a better draw to be honest.

#1 History of winning/high ceiling
The rest
Pay
Recruiting grounds
Alumni support

Coaches doent give a **** about history.
quote:Throw in High Taxes, High Cost of Living, Leftist Govt, Horrible Traffic, Earthquakes . . . . . . I can't think of anything that makes USC a Top 5 Job. Maybe 30 years ago, not now.
"Nicer" is highly subjective.
Living in LA and having a campus that is absolutely surrounded by ghetto is not necessarily "nicer".

Other than history (the most overrated factor there is) A&M is at the very top in all of those categories. So explain to me how it's not a top 5 job?
And Tennessee and Georgia are no longer better jobs than A&M. If Tennessee were a top 5 job, their last 3 coaches wouldn't be Kiffin, Butch Jones and Derek Fooley.
