Watching the Vikings manhandle the Tigers 35-13
Sad that the run is coming to an end. The only question now is are the going to keep the clock running the entire 2nd half. Kee-Kee Johnson is really good

So will Bryan no longer play Consol at Kyle Field ever again?

Now just CSHS and Consol play there from now on? That sucks!
Aggie

Nobody is playing there.
Consol and CSHS were scheduled to play there this year but that game has been moved to consol.
Doubt they ever move it to Kyle.
Consol- Bryan won't move back to Kyle anytime soon.. If ever .

I heard that it's an SEC thing. No facts, no links, no proof to offer. It's just something I heard.

Yeah, I'm glad you qualified your statement, seeing that Bryan and Consol played at Kyle in 2012 and 2013. It's actually a turf thing. Since the debacle of the Rice game, it was a safety issue for players. With brand new turf (part II), Im not sure if it's the schools or the university saying "no more". I wouldn't blame either side. The playing surface isn't an issue at any of the three high school stadiums.

Either way, there are positives and negatives to either option: playing at home or playing at Kyle. For the CSHS-Consol game, I would suggest carpooling, walking, or parking there as soon as school dismisses.

It was a turf issue since they had to put grass in again at Kyle Field, TAMU decided it was best for them to keep everyone off of it....including the Aggies by the way they played last week...sorry couldn't resist. Seriously it was because of the new turf.

As for Consol v Bryan:

Won't play at Kyle in the future. When that game was first moved there Consol didn't have the stadium to hold the 10,000+ that would show up to that game when it was just Consol and Bryan. Over the years, with the new schools in CSHS and Rudder opening up its hurt attendance at that game.

Now, consider the fact that it costs $15,000 to turn the lights on and play a game at Kyle Field, and the dwindling numbers at the game and it was no longer feasible money wise to play that game and have to pay Texas A&M money to play there. Back when there was 10,000+ people there at $5 a pop the game payed for itself. That's not the case anymore. Now that Consol has continued to expand their stadium it's a little easier to handle the crowds.

As for CSHS and Consol:

They simply didn't play there this year because of the field conditions. A&M wanted to make they gave the field the time and effort to make it playable after the Rice game. Had the field been fine and not seen the issues we all saw then the game between CSHS and Consol would have still played there. As for what I know, they game is still planned to go back to Kyle next year.

Crazy thing is now CSISD will have to foot the entire $15,000 bill if they don't sell enough tickets to offset the cost of the stadium and officials. At least before they could sit the cost with Bryan ISD, not anymore.

Anyway, those are the details y'all are looking for.

If they play at Kyle next year, that is BS. It should be at CSHS.

There was a thought that they might play the game next year at CSHS to make it fair and then return to Kyle the year after. It's a possibility but hasn't been decided for sure yet.

fyi for the sake of the discussion and because I was curious enough to look them up:

Tiger Field capacity - 5300
Cougar Field capacity - 6000
Merrill Green Stadium capacity - 10,500

Play in a 40-year old facility that's only two updates are turf and a new scoreboard? No thanks.

It's a nice stadium and seats 10,000+. Much nicer than any other school has, regardless of age. The field is excellent also, and that's what should matter.

A few corrections from some misinformed posters.

Consol- Bryan Games In the 90's would draw crowds of 20k not 10k.

Tigerland stadium seats more than 5300

There is no chance that all the Games will be played at merrell green .
