the poster on that old "JFF nickname" thread who credited mark barnes was a user names cbarnes16 - is that his son clayton barnes who he claims is a student trainer?
or is that handle cbarnes16 another one of mfbarnes socks?
i would be suspicious of the 2 or 3 other usernames on that JFF thread that originally posted the story and then deleted it (back in 2012) before "cbarnes16" posted it.

i searched the TBPE website and there isn't a Mark F Barnes listed. Misrepresenting yourself as a licensed engineer is a major no no. It would be pretty easy to turn this into the board. They don't play around with this.

Here is an example of someone who did just that:

Mr. Jason xxxx Houston, Texas; Case Number E-35354
Violation: Mr. Xxxx prepared and submitted to an electronic media site a profile that included "P.E." after his name. While Mr. Xxxx had previously been a professional engineer in Virginia, he no longer was, nor was Mr. Xxxxx licensed in Texas and therefore his use of "P.E." after his name was improper.
Section/Rule Violated: Section 1001.004(c) (2) (B) and (C), 1001.301(b) and (c).
Resolution: A Cease and Desist Order and a $2,250.00 administrative penalty.

Looks like I joined in this thread just in time.

TAMU '68 "Gig'em

Found a post on www.duramaxdiesels.com/ where he refers to himself in his sig as class of '68.

Also found a bunch of car posts on different forums for a mfbarnes in Virginia in 2003-2005ish. Can't get enough info from the profiles to see if it's really him or someone with the same name.
I saw the VA ones and didn't post anything as those did appear to be someone else.

Y'all don't understand. Barnes lied about restaurant recommendations on a Varsity thread, and I ended up taking my mother to one that he recommended. It was pretty bad.

I guess it's my fault for going to a restaurant recommended by a nascar driving football playing porn reviewer.

A young lady, Ag and Barrel Racer in the Houston rodeo had her house burn down. The site was created to raise money for her. Last I read, she knew nothing about it.

Unbelievable thread. This guy needs to get right with the man upstairs and repent and change his life. Anyone can change. He has the eyes of a depressed man and obviously has some major issues. He needs some prayers.
