The bobcat jumping is insane. Almost looks fake.
Oh man. We watched the original religiously and then bought the DVD set as soon as it was available.

Assuming it is in 4k (why wouldn't it be?), it may do as much for that format as the original series did for HD.
The first one was groundbreaking, it redefined what a nature documentary could be with its scope and detail. And it was right as HD was becoming popular so to see it in that format made it even more breathtaking.
It was Weaver who did the US version and I thought she did it well, will be curious to see what they do for this one. But regardless, that's 100% watching probability.

That's right up there with the battle at Kruger between the water buffalos, lions, and crocs from years ago for dramatic tension and incredible escape. The video was much better quality for this one, though. Incredible.
CGI has come so far, amazing.
I would honestly like to see the 'behind the scenes' no way they got some of those angles in the same shot/encounter.

Running in the UK right now. Not in the US till next year I think 
Watched the first episode last night (used a VPN proxy), and it was amazing. I'd buy a 4k TV just to see it in full resolution.
That clip is just a couple of minutes out of a 10 minute storyline. The entire shot is crazy, I was sweating just watching it. At the end of the episode, they show about 10 minutes of them setting up shots about a later story with penguins. They go through some rough extremes to shoot. Very impressive.

Tonights episode is the one with the bears doing the tree rubbing thing. Pretty cool.

Four episodes in, and I am underwhelmed.
OK, that is not right. The cinematography is just as amazing, if not more so, than last time.
It is just:
1. The last time was so mind blowing amazing, it is hard to match that
2. None of the vignettes have been really amazing. The lizard/snake, sure. The bobcat, yes. The shrew/bat/scorpions in the desert, OK. But it has been... boring.

Overall the first episode was excellent, but nowhere near as groundbreaking as the original, other nature documentaries have caught up a lot. Still totally worth the time though.
Amazing documentary. That lizard escape was better than any underdog story Hollywood had ever produced...
