Another one I used to really be into was Manowar. More cheesy 80's metal.

Carry On was a great song!

I wouldn't consider some of these artist obscure.

April Wine is not obscure.

I'm a bit embarrassed I fell for the hype and bought the Zwan album. Blech.

Vallejo

My SIL managed some properties in south Austin in the 90's and I remember my brother talking about some guys from Vallejo renting from her.

Also a band named 50 Mission Crush lived there.

Legs Diamond
King Crimson

You from S.A. or what?
Except someone from SA would assume everyone knew these guys. Good observation though.

Lots of other entries:

You guys do need to make a trip to SA, because a lot of these older rock bands are still touring and do find themselves in San Antonio, possibly more so than Houston, Dallas, Navasota, etc.

I know there is a poster on here who is in the photo in front of crowd for live concert of the SA popular band (I want to say Legs Diamond) as he stated on this site, show yourself .

Here are a few featuring lead females, that are VERY catchy, but I don't even bother telling friends about now if they've never heard of them. Put your hands up (keyboard tapping) if you've seen and/or heard of them.

Oh gosh. Interesting thread.

Ill go with Lady Tron, Ghosts. There was a lot of bands I thought were the next great thing back in 2004-2006 and they kinda just vanished. I know wolfmother may not be obscure, but I heard a song of theirs yesterday and it was a blast from the past, totally forgot about em.

We really only heard "Bears", "Tell Me What You Want", and "Who's Behind The Door" on the radio, but they had a lot of great tunes on the cassette I owned.

Randy Jackson still gigs some and performed with the Houston Symphony a couple years back doing Led Zeppelin songs. I bet that was good.

Big Zebra fan. 3.V is a really good, underappreciated album.
