Today's episode is REALLY good.

I almost wish they had told a broader story and made this one of the stand alone Star Wars movies after Rogue One.

Loved the ending; wish it had been a bit "larger" as well.

- The Ghost pulling a Falcon
- Gold Squadron!
- The debut of a certain ship
- The Ys linked to the Ghost.
- Genevieve O'Reilly voicing Mon Mothma!

Solid episode. Although, I feel they are a little inconsistent with Ezra. Sometimes he is an unmitigated BA. Like this episode or when he had the storm trooper in the walker attack other emperial troops, Other times he is easily and quickly neutralized like in the mandalorian episode with the guy that has since defected (I forget his name).

Can't believe they have enough time/story for a 4th season. I feel like the plots arcs and story lines are better than the majority of the 8 movies.

Thought it was a very good episode. Glad to hear Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma again, and to get Dutch Vander a nod as Gold Leader. Also a big fan of the TIE Defender.

Looking forward to Season 4. I'm guessing it will be far more time-compressed and that one episode will follow directly on the heels of the previous, unlike the more separated episodes we currently have. Or at least be made up more of Clone Wars-style multi-parters.

This season we know we have the resolution of the Ezra-Maul-Kenobi storyline, and I would presume the climax of Thrawn's endgame in locating/attacking Chopper Base.

So what's left?

- Thrawn's defeat and/or departure/death
- Ezra and Kanan's ultimate fate
- Some closure to Bendu and his interfacing with Ezra/Kanan
- Sabine finding a new leader for Mandalore
- Hera's promotion to General in the Alliance
- and maybe, some explanation of why the Ghost was at Scarif and not at the Battle of Yavin, if Rebels actually takes us through Episode IV and not just Rogue One.

Other rumored/possible events to be worked in:

- Appearance of Baze Malbus
- Appearance of Maz Kanata
- Ultimate fate of Ahsoka Tano

I see two pretty distinct storylines coming out of all that. One being on the Jedi side with Kanan and Ezra, who I think will ultimately die and find a place in the Force outside the Jedi, respectively. And one on the Rebellion side which I think must involve in getting the Mandalorians to fight against the Empire on their homeworld.

Rebel Base will be compromised
Likely meet up with larger group on Dantooine
Deal with Dantooine being discovered and abandoned
Thrawn being sent to the Outer Rims or whatever to explain his absence from the Original Trilogy

I wonder if it wraps up with establishing the base on Yavin?

Filoni said either after the first or second season that the goal was to tell a story up to at least the Battle of Yavin. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have some story outlined for after then or even after ANH.

I doubt we see Dantooine being discovered. When Leia fed the location of the base on Dantooine to Vader & Tarkin, the empire didn't know of it's existence.
"Our scout ships have reached Dantooine. They found the remains of a Rebel base, but they estimate that it has been deserted for some time. They are now conducting an extensive search of the surrounding systems. "

That's a really good point.

That moment is probably the only issue I had with that episode. This feels like an episode that should have been in two parts, with the next episode featuring more on Mon Mothma and the founding of the Alliance.

thinking the same thing. Kenobi already cut him in half and they let him live... they'll probably let him keep living.

My question on Maul is why is he still obsessed with Kenobi? Was there last interaction Kenobi escaping from Mandalore or did they have a later interaction (can't recall)?

Also, why has Palpatine let Maul live for all of these years?

Palpatine already whipped his ass once in the Clone Wars, and when Maul ran off, he was basically like "whatever, you ain't no threat to me."

They may have faced off again in a comic series, no idea what happened there.

Hera's actor's voice being reused on another character. Poorly. Way too much like Hera.

This is by far the single worst episode of Rebels to date. Like bad Clone Wars level bad.
A pointless filler episode that does not advance... anything.
It was mildly (and I mean mildly) amusing story up until the really ridiculous resolution. I know this is supposed to be a kid's show, but that was the single most ludicrous resolve for any story so far. Very disappointed.

Dave Filoni seemed so happy about them in Rebels Recon.
