Wife is dragging me to Marc Anthony show Oct14th.

Then I'm dragging her to see Chance the Rapper Oct15th. Really looking forward to that one.

Anymore reviews on ACL weekend 1? Any surprises? Best shows? Atmosphere? I'm heading out there for Weekend 2.
Saw Flume on sunday in Houston, amazing show.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats on Monday, was also a great show

We did it and enjoyed it. Just went Sunday.

Enjoyed:
Shane Smith and the Saints
Chris Stapleton
Nathaniel Ratliffe and the Nightsweats
Wild Child

Meh:
Kasey Musgraves
Margo Price

Turrible:
Haim
Lizzo

I really loved but have and will catch hell for watching instead of LCD:
Mumford and Sons

I actually do like Mumford more, but would have loved to do LCD, there was just no way to catch both. My wife was with me and she's a little more mainstream/country/pop so i wanted to not drag her to stuff she wouldn't like. If had been just me, i'd have added Break Science, Local Natives, and Young the Giant. First time going and we really loved it, so we may try a weekend pass next time to catch more.

Went to first weekend also, with wife, so we saw more of who she wanted.

Got there too late on Friday to see Foals or Strumbellas. Did see St. Lucia (ok), Band of Horses (really enjoyed), and Radiohead (not a big fan, and was really not feeling the first hour of their set).

Saturday was a good day. Saw Saint Motel, Catfish and the Bottlemen (enjoyed), Cage the Elephant, and split time between Two Door Cinema Club and The Chainsmokers. Wife was not keen on sticking around for Kygo or Kendrick, so we cut out early. I do wish I had convinced her to stay for at least part of Kendrick's set, as I heard it was really good.

Sunday was even better. Saw Wild Belle, Pete Yorn, Nathaniel Rateliff (awfully good), Bob Moses, Miike Snow, Young the Giant (really like them, but seemed loosey goosey during the set), and then Mumford. It was a really good day.

We are seeing Foals Saturday night in San Antonio. Looking forward to seeing them since we missed at ACL.

Thanks!

I'll be getting there late Friday so will unfortunately miss BoH, one of my all time favorite bands. But excited about Radiohead, I've heard mixed reviews though

Saturday should be pretty relaxed (hopefully can watch some of the Aggies)

Sunday, a lot of shows im excited about. Definitely choosing LCD over Mumford

Did ACL. Just saw a few bands since i didn't care about most headliners.
Radiohead on friday. Catfish and the Bottlemen and Nothing but thieves on Saturday.
Sunday was my big day with HAIM at 7. They're the reason why I bought my ticket, spent 6 hours on the same spot but was able to be front row right in the middle and caught a setlist.
Got to see HAIM again last night at Stubb's as part of the ACL Late Nite shows and I'm going to ACL Sunday only to see them again.
It's been a good week!

Does a version of Ratt with only the original drummer count?

(showing my age again + it's better than a night on the couch,...)

I've seen Ratt....three times? Twice in the 80's and once in maybe '99.

Pearcy isn't a great front man, so not too sorry to see him not there if they have a good replacement. Hated that Juan Croucier wasn't in the band anymore as his backups were great and he was a good bass player and good on stage.

I think they had Carlos Cavazos playing with them in Robbyn Crosby's spot fairly recently. But Warren DeMartini? Dude is what made Ratt pretty allsome. He could shred.

But hey, L.A. Guns is touring without Tracy Guns, so I guess anything goes.

Actually, I think all Ratt guys sans Blotzer performed on the Monsters of Rock cruise this week (maybe last) per Eddie Trunk.

I love Ratt but I wouldn't go see Blotzer's version. The other three surviving members with Carlos Cavazos did indeed jam together the other night. I saw that lineup with Blotzer on drums about 4-5 years ago at HOB and thought they were great. Was lucky enough to meet Pearcy & DeMartini a couple times in the 90's.

In my defense, the tickets were free, its in a small bar and its an excuse to hang with my buddy and wife doesn't care.

Could think of worse ways to spend a Wednesday.

For the record, I wasn't criticizing you or bagging on you for going.

Saw Metallica last night. Ticket for $25 (Legacy Fan Club member) and will definitely never see them this close again.

What an insane night!

Did not use zoom at all for the entire night.
