Flipping through the radio, I heard a quick reference to the new Disney movie. All I heard was something in a prayer along the lines of "lord encourage Christians not to see this movie"

What is the crazy concern about this movie?

^ Only thing I can think of. Just did a search and can't find a single mention of any Christian or Christian group having an issue. The movie did, however, screen for the the first time last night, but all reactions/reviews have been embargoed until next week.

Well the premise is that there is a big fascist government that they are escaping from correct? Perhaps the government is religious based? I can't imagine Disney trying to piss off Christians though.

I think in one of the trailers they refer to the main chick as "The Savior". Maybe that has something to do with it.

I wouldnt put it past the evil mouse to stir up a christian boycott of this film to drive up sales.




Imho, the film looks terrible. I have seen both trailers and was at first intrigued by the pin/transport thingy. But after seeing Clooney&girl escape his house, I have zero interest in watching it. It feels more like spy kids than oz, ya know.

In tone, yes. It has a Spy Kids vibe all the way, which kind of sucks. That said, I still thought the house escape scene was pretty amazing. Really inventive, suspenseful, and a lot of fun.

Exactly. I know I always flip my faith switch into the Off position before cruising over to the bookstore on the highway and strolling into the screening room in the back. It's just simple entertainment, folks.

Also, Brad Bird.

And totally agreed on the escape sequence, I wasn't thrilled to see that in the trailer either. On the plus side, that tells me there's probably some more really cool stuff coming.

I also have very strong faith. And for that reason I could, if necessary, watch 50 SHADES OF GREY or whatever with said faith unshaken. It's a movie. You watch it, you go home. If people want to get upset about stuff, they should pick something important like the thriving sex slave business or gross income disparity.

Why do you assume faith has to be weak for disapproval of a film. 50 shades is deplorable on multiple levels And those who criticized didn't do so because it challenged their beliefs but rather because it promoted immorality, misogyny, and pornographic scenes.

Income inequality? Really? Of two causes you suggest, your sjw head pulls that up. Rofl.
