I think Fox is probably waiting on Disney. I think they can get a lot more money if they license it to Disney to release as a complete trilogy (or a ennealogy) than if they were to just release it as a standalone.

Just out of curiosity, who owns the characters/likenesses, etc? In other words, who's gonna be putting out the toys, Fox or Disney? Or will they be splitting revenue?

If Disney decided to re-release the original films theatrically after 2020, does that mean we'd no longer get the Fox fanfare at the beginning and it would be replaced by the Disney intro? Cause that kind of makes me sad, actually.
