AC in Edge sucks. And the only vents to backseat are in the console.

CRV is anemic. Cheap interior. Won't die on you though. Chevy meh. Ford looks ok but I don't like the styling. Depends on what engine you get in it.

I have a friend with an edge who really likes it. I've ridden shotgun in a CRV and found it very uncomfortable for some reason.

Honda is riding on their reputation with their latest offerings of vehicles. The last Honda Civic had to have a mid generation overhaul cause it was so poorly reviewed.

Outback: higher ground clearance, more cargo space, cheaper, longer lasting, better gas mileage, all wheel drive. Not as wide (by something like 4 inches) as the Edge or JGC.

Anyone drive a new JGC and want to comment on their interior? I heard the older models, from the 90's, had cheap material and would fall apart inside; how are they now?

We got the JGC Overland and the interior is beautiful. Most everything is controlled by the touch screen so there aren't a lot of knobs and things, but the few thAt are there seem to be of decent quality.

Jeep Grand Cherokee looks nice, it's the Jeep Cherokee that has those weird eyes and goofy front. Or so my wife thinks. She's leaning toward the JGC or Edge. She says we can't own two Outbacks without moving to Colorado.

Driven the Traverse before as a rental, it's a nice ride but on the highway had literally the worst acceleration I've ever felt, but then I am also used to driving a 5.3L V8 so it could just be a perspective issue.

Check Consumer Reports. 2 of your 3 suck on reliability, and they aren't the Jap one. Check out the Nissan Rogue or Toyota RAV4 as alternatives. Jeep products have a notoriously bad reliability record over the years.

We traded in our CRV a couple of months ago because the ac started to go and it had 180k miles on it. I agree with the cheaper interior, but the engine was still strong. I just didn't want to pour more money into a vehicle with that many miles. Plus we needed a bigger vehicle. Overall, I was happy with Honda.

I have driven the hell outta the Hyundai Santa Fe the company gave me as a work vehicle. So far it has been good (boss bought it on a lease return). Put over 40k miles on it this year and done nothing but regular maintenance and tires.

The rib has had an edge since 09. We are just about to roll 100k miles and have only had to put a battery and a cooling fan in it. Great cars
