Anyone been through this with their clubs? Curious how much

American lost mine this morning. DFW sucks with oversized baggage.

I have.

Did they completely lose it or delayed?

If delayed and you need clubs to play, I'd rent a set but go ahead and buy balls, shoes, gloves, more balls, hats, etc. AA was very cordial and paid for my shoes, club rental and 2 dz prov1s.

My understanding is they will pay up to $3000+ for lost clubs.

Im at DFW now waiting to board but no clubs with me on this trip.

Don't forget rain gear if it "was in the bag" and you need it. They reimbursed that as well.

Thanks for the info.

Well they can't find it, so at least delayed. My round is in the morning, so I guess they still have time.

Now waiting at my destination to get this figured out after connecting. Was this all just handled through a central number? Just get receipts?

I guess they'll walk me through it. Don't need a lot of free **** (though I'll take it), just annoyed more than anything. Rentals will be fine.

As someone who travels almost weekly with his clubs, dropping an AirTag in your bag is a great idea and has helped with AA multiple times…

Just be careful on how frugal you get with buying ***** I've seen on more than one occasion guys get stiffed on certain items (shoes, belts, hats etc)

Anybody in Houston listen to Dean and Rog's birthday scam on 107.5?

There was a lost clubs scam. United lost a guy's clubs. He lied (basically said he had name brand clubs when it fact he had cheap stuff) about what was in the bag, and United reimbursed him based on that.

Trouble was, a few weeks later United found his clubs and realized they were not what he claimed. United wanted a partial refund to reflect the true value of his clubs.

Guys wife got Dean and Rog to call him pretending to be a United lawyer.

Your previous post was right after my story about the guy who scammed United Airlines. He got paid $2200 for $279.99 clubs. I thought the "pain and suffering" comment was jokingly directed at this guy.

Sorry I didn't make that more clear.

ohhh...I've got post weekend brain still going, my bad! yes, if I had top flight clubs, I'd be praying for them to lose my clubs.

Just happy they found them. This was going to be my first round with my new driver, but guess that has to wait now. Trying to get away for another quick round tomorrow or Wednesday if we can wrap these meetings up.

American was actually very communicative and the airline worker I talked to yesterday in person at the regional airport called me directly last night even though it wasn't her fault and she was off duty just to give me the update.

Glad they found them.

I had a good experience with Southwest last week as well.

Checked our trade show boxes at departure and they no showed at arrival. On site rep chased them down and found the handlers took them to the cargo area instead of baggage claim despite all the tags / stickers. Had them back to baggage claim in less than 5 minutes once figured out.

checked mine on Southwest a week ago. Agent made a point to ask me if I understood they were not responsible for damage but only for loss. I said, "Yes, I understand, but that doesn't give you the license to beat the crap out of 'em!"

That's awesome. I had the complete opposite experience with AA when they lost my clubs although that's been years ago now. AA lost them then somehow strong armed Air Canada into cutting me a check after months of me calling them daily. Glad it worked out for you.

You don't sound happy...and if you'd gotten the most expensive G4 pair of shoes, you'd been super happy!!

Details on Shoes and balls? one dozen or 2 dozens? Don't tell me you got 2 sleeves of Top-Flite logo balls.
