Transfer Portal Prospects

Saw this article about those who have already entered the portal and figured it would be nice to discuss who we should try to go after. I think Chen is an obvious choice since we need a PG but not sure we would land her.

Yes she's a senior but I don't think we have time to try to develop a PG right now unless we get a very high recruit. The SEC is going to be even tougher next year with OU and Texas joining.

I like Chen and the two Arkansas portal entries that are a freshman and sophomore. I think all 3 could help the program. Also is there a Kentucky bigger girl in the portal, she might be worth a look.

I definitely saw HVL leaving LSU but definitely don't see her transferring here.
There's a guard from Washington State that's in the transfer portal who we could definitely use- Charlisse-Leger Walker.

I personally would love to see HVL here. She's still a good player that very clearly lost her confidence by not being a primary option

We need a PG and she has the ability to be a good one

Van Lith played out of position all year at LSU as their primary PG. She just wasn't comfortable in that role. She has been best as a 2 and can help out at PG if needed but shouldn't be your primary PG.

That was her problem at LSU she is not a natural point guard she's only been one since Kim made her.....I believe she has always been a 2

You are correct. Miss St HC Sam Purcell was an assistant at Louisville when HVL was there. I'm sure that would be a comfortable fit for her.

SOURCES: Penn State transfer Leilani Kapinus is also visiting Mississippi State this weekend.

She averaged 11.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.
