Six-time Grammy winner and jazz/rock saxophonist David Sanborn passed away yesterday (May 12) due to complications from prostate cancer.
He played sax solos on recordings by just about every major artist in the '70s and '80s -- Bowie, James Taylor, K. Loggins, Springsteen, Clapton, Wonder, Rundgren, Elton John, the Stones, Toto, Ronstadt, the Eagles, Steely Dan, Billy Joel and many more.
He also released one of the most popular smooth jazz albums of all time with keyboardist Bob James, "Double Vision."
You may not know the name, but I guarantee you've heard him play.
Here he is with Al Jarreau and Bob James on the classic "Since I Fell for You."
