You're a damn fool if you think Kliffy would have been offered that job without Manziel. What else was on his resume at that point? Even for a former tceh player he needed that Heisman year to get a P5 offer as his first HC gig.

One of my best friends sister is married to a tech alum billionaire. He funded a lot of the Tuberville buyout. He was good friends with kingsbury even before the hire. Fwiw

KK is a great OC. Just not a great HC. He hasn't done anything at the NFL level though. I hope he fails miserably with the Redskins.

Wasn't Kliff the OC at U of H with Sumlin when they had Case Keenum? He didn't win at tech, but he developed Mahomes.

I watched the HBO Hard Knocks in Season series during Kliff's last season with the Cardinals. Kliff may not be an above average NFL HC, but the decision to anchor a franchise to Kyler Murray appeared to be the biggest issue.
