Fortunately it hit the railroad side and that's what collapsed. I have no idea about the integrity of the road part. As for now it's closed to traffic. It's going to be a HUGE (Trump voice) problem for a lot of Sea Aggies if that bridge is shut down long term.

I know it's been abandoned for years but I still remember being on a trip to Galveston and marveling how close the tracks were to the road. I guess after this is all said and done there won't be any trace of the tracks remaining.
