USA Basketball on Monday released its final version of the 2016 Olympic roster, and one prominent Aggie is heading to Rio.

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, who played his one season of college basketball at Texas A&M during the 2007-08 season, was officially named to the roster and will join a bevy of other young NBA stars in representing the United States in August.

Jordan's selection — along with that of Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving, DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors, Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson and Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, among others — had been rumored last week prior to Monday's official announcement.

Joining those five to fill out the roster are Knicks star and 2012 holdover Carmelo Anthony, the Thunder's Kevin Durant (also a returnee from the 2012 team), Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes of the Warriors, Chicago's Jimmy Butler, Indiana's Paul George and Raptors guard Kyle Lowry.

Jordan is coming off of a career year, during which he earned All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive First Team honors while averaging 12.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He also became the Los Angeles Clippers' career leader in rebounds at the ripe age of 27.

The United States men's national basketball team is the two-time defending Olympic gold champion, having swept through the 2008 and 2012 tournaments. Additionally, the USA is currently ranked No. 1 in the FIBA World Rankings, followed by No. 2 Spain and No. 3 Lithuania.

Basketball at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil begins on August 6 and will conclude on August 21.

I look at that photo and my first thought is..."he about to miss this!"

Also, I look at the roster and think that it is quite stellar and that nobody "should" contend, but I also think that a number of NBA teams could beat that group, GSW, CC, OKCT.

We could have our first ever Ag vs Ag olympic game should the USA and Lithuania play each other. As far as I can tell Antanas is still on the Lithuanian national team.

You can see the Tobi wristband in that photo. Pretty impressive that he has remained constant in wearing it.
