"****** take off your hat!"

My friend was wearing his hat backwards, guy behind him grabs the bill end and tips it off. My friend doesn't put up a fight, picks up his hat and puts it back on. Next time, same guy does it again. This time my friend turns and tells him to stop. Guy said "I'm just going to keep doing it over and over again until you stop." My friend kept his hat on through the first three quarters, each time fans all around him calling him names for not taking off his hat. Anytime I defended him, I was called his "boyfriend."

Right now I am pretty disgusted about this. I mean, really. It wasn't just one jerk. It was pretty much 20 other guys.

it was better on the third deck today they yelled uncover but they rarely yelled at someone the yell leaders talked about it last night at midnight yell practice so a lot of fish laid off thankfully

Guy in front of me: "This guy's a fish and he's telling us what's not a tradition."

Me: "Who said it was a tradition?"

Him: "Everyone here that yells it."

Wait, the yell leaders talked about it at midnight yell?

I bet if he popped the guy in the mouth he would have stopped knocking your buddies hat off.

I just don't understand why people come to football games to enforce "traditions". To me, a bigger tradition is the Aggie network, and being true to each other. Also, I really don't understand where this tradition came from, if you want to pay respect to fallen Aggies because of the 55 flags then take off your hat the whole game. I don't understand how taking off your cover for yells pays respect to them. Personally, I come to games to enjoy the game and have fun, I guess these guys have their own agenda.

I was in section 224. we had to listen to a bunch of obnoxious freshmen on the first row of 324 screaming uncover at the top of their lungs. every. single. yell. they started to pipe down a little during the second half after everyone told them to shut up.

oh and some girl yelled "hey 2nd deck good job uncovering!"

yes, it's getting way ridiculous.

I was taught from a early age you dont mess with someones hat or cap. Thats something you just dont do what is wrong with these people.

Italian we were in the same section and thought the girls up on 3rd deck were pretty rudiculous too

Where I come from if a man takes your hat off without your permission, thems fightin words right there. I had a very good friend of mine do that to me once and I had to explain to him that in Texas that means you pretty much wanna get your a$$ kicked

I sat in Section 232, Row 22. A few guys a couple rows behind me would not stop yelling uncover. The guy next to me also was wearing a hat and eventually gave in. I just kind of put my hand on my hat, adjusting it to acknowledge that I did in fact hear them.

It's stupid.

Anyways, time to go out and get drunk.

I guess this is why that story was so infuriating. I think that if this story was about some guy knocking my hat off over and over again it would probably end with me getting thrown out of the game. I don't know if I could restrain myself from giving that kid the beating that he was clearly asking for.

The guy that flipped off his hat had his shirt off, cargo shorts and long black hair. Typical dick looking guy. Either a fish or soph.

At the beg. of the game I yelled "Uncover is NOT a tradition!" while the Uncover Nazi's yelled their gay little "Unnnncooooovvvvvvveerrrrrrrrrrr" chant. You hear me? I only did it three times right at the beg. of the game for the first three times we humped it.

If someone is harassing you for any reason, have event staff bounce them outta there. This isn't Jones Stadium.

actually, wasn't bad where I was. There were two or three guys who would yell it, but no cussing, no touching, and no utter b.s.

Although they did miss actually doing the yell a couple times, which at the very least is counter-productive.

SquareOne, i dont know how close you were to us (row 20) but i was yelling at them to shutup from time to time. and when that one girl yelled 'good job 2nd deck' i went on a little mini-rant on how it's a stupid made up tradition. i'm sure i made many friends as well as enemies standing around me.

Ha we were right in front of you, I was in the maroon ATM hat that came off once the entire game. I made a point to turn around and laugh at the girls yelling at us.

nah man everytime someone yelled uncover i yelled hump it ags or i held out my hump it ags to drown them out it worked very well i might add!

haha, well there were alot of maroon aTm hats around me but if you were right in front of us i very well may have slapped hands with you every time we scored.

Yeah, a yell leader said at midnight yell that, "The past four years, I was taught that taking your hat off during yells shows respect for Aggies in the military. So either take off your hat and yell, or don't come." I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically what he said.

I've heard so many different stories I don't know what to believe. I don't ever have to worry about it because I don't wear hats or yell uncover.

I could care less if someone leaves their hat on, but what's the big deal with just taking it off? Or is this more of a "I've got to be right and in control so that everyone thinks my junk is bigger than theirs"

First two games this year were fine, but I finally had my first encounter with the uncover nazis tonight. There were three in my section with the usual "TAKE YOUR F'ING HAT OFF!" I turned around to two of them, told them to fook off, and they didn't say sh/t the rest of the night. Uncover nazis deserve to be bludgeoned to death in front of their parents...and screw the yell leaders for telling everyone at yell practice last night that uncover is a tradition.
