The announcement time is purely speculative, but the reason they would announce something would be to stop rampant rumors and potential negative recruiting tactics.

It is my belief that Byrne or Loftin will release a Wednesday email of some sort that will casually say, "Oh. We've heard some rumors that Sherman's position is not stable. This is false. We are fully behind Mike Sherman as he and his coaches prepare for the bowl season."

They are not going to tip their hat one way or another in an email to a student.

Stability in coaching could also mean a new staff that is not on the hot seat (which we all know Sherman will be).

Frankly, an AD CFO spilling the beans about split over Sherman on texags is more telling than an official email to a student.

The big 12 exit fee is taken out of tv money. It will be no more than $15 million and likely closer to $12 million. The buyout is no where near $9 million, even it was it would not be paid out at once.

The loan is paid out over time.

There is nothing close to $45 million that will paid out over the next year or even 10 years.

Sherman is gone. Just be patient.

Me neither.

Add to it the Cotton Bowl last year, all the close losses this year, 12th in Saragin and currently a 6th ranked recruiting class.

The natives are restless though (myself included), so the situation needs to be handled with care.

Even if it "only" around 35 mil, that is still a big chunk of change, especially when we want to do some work on Kyle.

Bilbo- you seem very sure if he is gone. Wondering if you are basing that off the same info that I got.

It will not be paid out all at once. And in the case of the big12 it is not paid out at all.

And Kyle renovations are crap if you have a dead man walking leading the program.

Sherman is gone people.

You have the CFO trying to get his side out on a website (his side being to keep Sherman) about his department's battle with the President, two former coaches, with one being a former BOR.

What does that tell you about Sherman's job?

Big f'n deal. The Cotton Bowl? A&M should go to the Cotton Bowl with regularity. That's part of the problem. Just because it's been a while since we've been there, people act like it's some great accomplishment. 2010 was, overall, a good season. Not great by any stretch. Good. 9-4 is "good" at Texas A&M, it's not great, and shouldn't be. Close losses? Yes, where we repeatedly made the exact same mistakes in game management over and over and over and over and over again. All the the same result. The 6th ranked recruiting class. It will likely finish around 10-12. That's solid, but that's ONE class. One. That's not nearly enough to justify holding onto any coach. Especially under the current circumstances where stacking classes like that are going to be even more difficult considering the current status of our staff.
