A fairly new National Park near Montrose, CO. I believe it opened during the Clinton Administration. Spectacular 2300 foot deep gash in the earth. I hate heights, but I just grabbed onto the hand rail and looked anyway.

There was some crazy SOB who was climbing up (or down?) the canyon while we were there. Made me nauseous just to think about it.

Love that park. We went a few years ago and had it all to ourselves. There wasn't anyone else in the entire main campground.

That little creek on the first north side overlook, curecanti creek, I think it is, there is a great 2.5 mile hiking trail that goes down the side canyon to the creek and down to the main canyon floor from the rim. It's a beautiful hike. Incidentally, the fishing down at the bottom is superb.

There is some extremely good trout fishing on the lower end of the park. I did a float thru there a few years ago. Awesome area.
