There is no link in this thread. And you have not proved anything other than you are a sip troll. SEC Defensive linemen are just as fast if not faster than Big 12 DL. And they are a hell of a lot more athletic and talented.

You are unable to back up your drivel. Go back to w-h-o-r-nfans where you belong.

If you are talking about 3-4 defenses like Bama and UGA, the DL are all pretty much DT's with DE sized LB's playing behind them who can run. You take a look at a 4-3 team such as LSU, both the starting DE's this coming season will be around 6'4" to 6'5" and 250 pounds. They both have been known to run in the 4.5's. Youtube the LSU vs Oregon game to see how an SEC team matches up with what was considered the fastest team in the country before that game.

Thank you. They are DE SIZED is the point I have been trying to make to those here that want to talk about football, and not troll.

Eighteen of the 20 best defenses in all of college football in 2009 had a front-7 (DL+LB) weight of more than 1,780 lbs. Furthermore all of the top ten defensive units were in excess of that mark. Now not only was Alabama the largest squad on the the list it was the only true 3-4 team.

That trend has carried forth to today. SIZE MATTERS. Looking at their defensive rankings, their stats have increased as their SIZE increased. This is not a coincidence. Every year their defense improved, their size increased. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

And they are all fast as well. Just as fast if not faster than Big 12 DL. JapanLSU was talking about 2 defenses that run a 3-4.

hotnickels, you are still a troll who is unable to provide links to back up his drivel.

Wow...you mean players are getting bigger and bigger each year? When did this trend begin? Watching SEC defenses it becomes very obvious they are big and FAST on the defensive line.

Switzerland - you do realize Terrance Cody was on that DL, right?

Tell me, how fast was he?

You name one DL in a 3-4? What a D-u-m-b-a-s-s. Overall, the DL in the SEC are both bigger and faster than the tu little 12 minus 2.

What about the links I requested you post to prove your moronic posts? Waiting for you to prove to everyone how slow the SEC DL are.

Terrance Cody was a clogger at nose tackle and wasn't built for speed. His main job was to not budge at the line of scrimmage even with 2 offensive linemen on him. There are only 3 well-recognized 3-4 defenses in the SEC and they are Bama, UGA, and Florida. Florida just switched to the 3-4 not long ago because Will Muschamp came from the Saban defensive coaching tree. A 4-3 defense like LSU is predicated on speed over size. Both the starting DT's from last season were former DE's converted to DT's and both the starting DE's will play 3-4 OLB's when they get to the NFL. Both of the starting OLB's were converted safeties. One of the DT's I mentioned is Mike Brockers who played DE at Chavez HS in Houston and will likely be a top 10 pick and first DT taken in the draft.
