Cortez will not start a game unless its deep into the SEC tournament. He is a big mental pitcher and knowing he is a starter and expected to perform for 5 innings is a lot for him. Out of the bullpen, he has spoken several times that his mentality is 1 inning saves. He pitches to get through the inning without the looming thought of having to save gas for a 4th or 5th inning
