I wonder how much of this has to do with draft timing. If you're getting a signing bonus and a nice contract contingent on not getting hurt do you really give a **** about playing for free and getting hurt anymore or do you try to get to the ink ASAP?

Yes. Many do "less with more" than Kevin O'Sullivan.

I can think of one coach whose first name starts with 'R'.

one thing Schloss does...he gets his players to play "above their numbers" in the postseason.

Howard had a 3.56 ERA before he pitched against the Ags. There is nothing outstanding about a 3.56 ERA. But now Howard has pitched 11 innings w/o giving up an earned run
