Also a new NCAA record for most runs in the 3rd inning, 13 runs.

New record for "hits in third inning" is 13. Previous was 12 (Long Island vs. Mt. St. Mary's, 2000; Clemson vs. Maryland, 1998).
11 consecutive hits tied the record for "consecutive hits" previously held set by Cal State-Los Angeles vs UCSB in 1977 and equaled by Oakland vs Southern Utah in 2008. Nau could have been the 12th consecutive hit, but the hit streak was broken by his RBI groundout.
Also, the fans broke the post-Blue Bell Park renovation series attendance record last weekend (vs Missouri) with 18,776.
Records falling all over the place.

Using AFDave's image above, my approximate count of pitches thrown by SHSU in the bottom of the 3rd is ~62. Just crazy.
Coincidentally, both A&M and SHSU threw 185 total pitches in the game. Of course the A&M pitchers threw 3 more outs than they did.

I haven't been to A&M baseball College Station in recent years because it was so hard to watch Aggie teams that couldn't hit a lick lose every year to Rice, TCU or tu here in Houston. Time to head north.
