not sure where he got his, but i picked up a 3 gal barrel from yellow rose. i'm about to brew and age a Saison in that bad boy.

He soaks wood chips in a sealed jar of whiskey for three years, then tosses the chips into his keg. He has a ladder of three whiskey jars going, so every year one is ready to use.

Help Needed!

My buddy and I are taking a trip to Colorado with the sole purpose of going to breweries and brew pubs. We're driving to give us ample room to bring back beer.

If you're in the Houston area and want me to pick up anything, let me know and we can meet up.

I started a thread in the Travel section so I don't clog up this thread so please check it out and offer any information you have. I stay pretty updated with this thread, but any help would be appreciated.

la fours, these guys sell used 8 gal barrels for a decent price.

My uncle wants to do this, but he does 10 gal. batches, so he just doesn't know how exactly he'd do it. I suggested just barreling 5, and having the other 5 for a control to sample side by side.

Tell your uncle to quit dicking around and get one of those barrels.

yeh you'd think for an unemployed guy with a bread winner wife who spends pretty much everyday dicking around with his multitude of aging beers, ciders and tarts, he would have gotten on this by now!

Bought a Sculpin IPA at the new Fresh Market in WestU today. Looking forward to drinking that bad boy tomorrow.

He mentioned they will have Revolver Blood & Honey (some one asked if they had it and that's how he brought it up). Don't hold me to this but I want to say he said they would have 6 taps...? Not sure on that though.

At Publix I found Terrapin Rye Pale Ale wich I really like. There was a Terrapin IPA which I did not try. Also got Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale which is pretty good. It reminds me of Modelo Especial Dark
