I'm looking for some mounts to secure a porch swing in a 2 pole arbor frame. The arbor was built with all 8x8 cedar post. When I look online I see options from Amazon that just use 2 lag screws per mount, and I can't help but feel that is not strong enough but maybe I'm just over thinking this. The swing max capacity is around 600lbs so it would need to comfortably hold 2 adults.

Am I over thinking this or are there over built options u should be considering?

Good galvanized lag bolts / eye bolts will be just fine for 600 lbs

Username seems to fit here... Lag bolts in 8x8 Cedar.

You're over thinking it.

I searched amazon for swing bolts. There are other options too.

Now that the bolts are found
concerns afoot about
sway forces vs. foundation - assumed top be pole framed
all forces vs beam span
age of cedar footing in grade, in that these rot out but takes 30-40 years ...
Be Safe
IMHO and am sticking to it
