I'm pretty stoked for this. Love that the guys there are so in to it. Even makes Bubba somewhat likeable.
Reed and Fowler have a dang good shot.
I'd like Kuchar more of the weather was going to stay bad but it's supposed to be perfect conditions for 2-4 rounds.

Biggest hazard may be getting dive-bombed by the seagulls.

Speith is a sip as well, and at times gets whiney. But I enjoy watching him play when he's on.
Just curious - how have you observed Vegas being a jackass? I've only seen him in person twice, and saw a few social media posts. Didn't have a convo with him but he just seemed chill.

Wind has been killing the players this afternoon, but if the wind calms down looks like some great numbers can be posted.
Bad shots are definitely punished
Love he course so far. Big fan of the no rough, just waste area and fairway.

Why would this have anything to do with it?
Teams aren't competitively balanced in any other Olympic sport (see basketball). It's countries going against other countries.

right, there are only 30 something countries represented with 60 something players
lowest 3 medal. If there are ties they do sudden death for the medal. Could be fun to see some guys doing a playoff for Bronze even after Gold and Silver are locked up.

For some reason I have no interest in this at all. I may get into it on Sunday but this may as well be the John Deere. If it were a team event with best ball, four ball, alternate shot and match play like the ryder cup it would be great. Bad move IOC.
yeah, that would be entertaining, but it wouldn't be inclusive. there are probably 20 countries max who could put together a 4 person team capable of competing.
part of this was to expand the footprint of golf and try to build the game.
it would also be a hard format to decide a team victory within a week (and another week for the women). I think this format was only thing possible.

I hear ya. What would be really cool is a team event with two men and two women. That would be interesting.
Make it like beach volleyball. Pick your partner and go qualify. That would be fun. We get stroke play with better fields more than 40 weeks a year. Would also be good practice for Ryder Cup.
