Let's say we can only carry 3 wedges and we all agree to keep the PW in the bag , what would your other 2 be ?

Mine 52* and 60*

I'd go 54 and 58

52 and 58 to keep the gaps similar

What loft is my PW?

I hate only having three....

I remember when the pros only carried a pw usually 45 * and a sw about 56* , going to "the three wedge system" was a big deal

I have a 52/58/64. If I have to pull one out, which I do on occasion, I pull out the 64.

unless you know how far the ball travels with swings from the 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 o'clock positions. Then the 64* is just as important as the other wedges in your bag. Dave Pelz' book 'The Short Game Bible' is a good read.

I'd also go 52* and 58* for even gaps.

Great discussion , but we can change a degree or 2 or 4 by opening/closing the clubhead. Are we losing our shotmaking ability?

It's fun to hit though. I have said this before, and the purests lose their minds, but I don't keep score or count a handicap 99% of the time I play (except for counting score of the current hole). I therefore pick and choose which rules I abide by. So I often play with 15 clubs!! Sometimes I use it 4-5 times in a round, sometimes not at all, but if I play in a tournament, i take it out over my 3i everytime.

Currently I carry a 44*, 48*, 52* and 56*.

If I had to lose one I'd probably lose the 48*.

Similar to bagger. 44, 49, 54, 59

And I'd ditch the 49 if I had to get rid of one.

I carry 47 (pw), 53, and 60. Use the 60 for greenside traps. Enough spacing in loft to leave a fair amount of versatlity.

I got a 45, 50 and 56 that is bent to 55

PW is 46*, and I carry a 52* and 56*. Don't see myself ever changing this setup.

SW - 54
LW = 60

and i'm quite capable of chili-dipping all of them

My setup as well.

The lofts aren't as important to me as the bounce and grind of the sole. Bounce for different lies / conditions, sole for versatility when adjusting loft by opening or closing the face.

I've always open / closed for loft, I'm probably missing something by not going to an extra wedge....but that's the way I've always done it, it works for me and I'm comfortable with it.

50 and 56. I use my 50 more than any other club.
