2012: Morning results - 2 to 2
2012: End of day 1: 5 to 3 US

2010: This year was a little weird due to play suspended, so I dont know the exact "session 1 total" but it was 2.5 to 1.5 US after the morning, and 6 to 4 US after Saturday's half Friday/partial Saturday play.

2008: Morning: 3 to 1 US
2008: End of day 1: 5.5 to 2.5 US

Best ball is all about birdies. I wuould have paired him with Furyk told Jim to make pars, and let watson bomb it. Its best ball who cares if a couple go OB if he makes 5 or 6 birdies...

On Tour, Furyk has been scorching lately with 5 top 5's in his last 8 starts. That said, a loss is a loss is a loss. Played alright but still dogpiles on his abysmal Ryder Cup record. His game just doesn't fit match play. His Accenture record is abysmal too. He's been playing in that tournament 15+ years, and I think his best finish is one quarterfinals appearance. He's usually out pretty quickly.

Watson did play best ball with Simpson. He sat out the foursome matches. And he will be playing best ball with Kuchar in the morning.

Just saw tomorrow morning pairings and I like the changes.

Watson/Kuch- like mentioned above, put a steady guy with Bubba and hope he gets hot.
Furyk/Mahan- another steady guy with someone who can go low
Reed/Speith- guys won 5&4. nuff said
Walker/Fowler- halved both their matches; play Bjorn/Kaymer again.

Kick-ass in the morning then try and do something in alt shot. Not getting that full point out of Walker/Fowler in the afternoon hurts but we're far from our of it.

Not sure how their games translate to alt shot as a team but when they boatrace someone like that I guess you throw them out there and see what happens.

Interesting to note McDowell/Dubuison played well together but are being sat for the morning matches.

Can't believe Phil played in foursomes!! That point lost is on Tom Watson. I don't care what Keegan and Phil did 2 years ago, Phil is not a foursomes player at this point.

Watson has been a total pansy

In fairness to Tom, Phil/Keegan were 3-0-1 in foursomes at the 2012 Ryder Cup and 2013 Presidents Cup.

In hindsight, I probably would have played Keegan and Rickie together in foursomes this afternoon. Let Mickelson sit. Let Walker sit because we'll probably need 36 out of him tomorrow. And continue to roll with Spieth/Reed.
