But we aren't "Texan" anymore. We left the state and took our sliver with us.

Must be a mistake. There's no way the guy who runs that site would allow such a fluff piece to be published. He's a true professional, not just some fan blogger.

It's only taken three years, but at least they've moved on from the "perennial doormat" talking point.

Wait the team in that has a friggin jet pack man is saying that A&M is supplementing what is going on on the field with fluff?

The idiocy from that fan base is suffocating. Like I said, clearly the least self aware fans in the universe. Making fun of texas is too easy when they write the jokes for us.

The focus of A&M has clearly turned from the ex-rival in Austin. The lawsuit against the saw'em off logo diminishes in importance because Aggies don't care to wear iconic symbols of the past. We fed their egos for decades because beating them was paramount for a successful season.

The LSU baseball series highlights the rise of a new rivalry with national exposure, lawsuits, recruiting wars, coaching changes and crawfish boils. Gig'em

Love the whole living in Austin v College Station bs. So these kids tu brings in have money right? Money to get in their boats at the lake on weekends? Money to buy the SXSW wristbands? Money to hit all the nice restaurants downtown? Pay for $10 drinks on 6th street or the always cheap bottle service? Get to live in the new fancy downtown high rise condos? Didn't think so. Austin works if you have a good job and money. The players are looking to get their drink on, burn some tree, and chase tail.

Pretty hilarious that Anwar is too logic-challenged and lacking in professional journalism skills to go to wikipedia & look up where Utx finished in the South division standings of the B12 during the 1998 season. That was the year Anwar's dope-smoking hero Ricky Williams won the Heisman.

I mean come on recruits!

Why would you want to play in the countries biggest, best and most storied stadiums every Saturday when you could be playing in HS sized stadiums in legendary places like Lubbock, Stillwater, Ames and Manhattan!

Why would you want to play for a conference that sends more kids to The League than many other conferences COMBINED??

Not when you can play for Coach chuck, finish 4th in a league thats barely a power conference anymore and sends all of nobody to the NFL anymore all so you can say you live in a hipster and homeless infested town full of pretentious and overpriced amenities you cant afford.

Typical little 0-12, begging for attention, lying- er misleading the "facts", etc. he needs to stick to his speak and spell game and leave the football talk to the menfolk. Does his mommy know he has snuck into her bedroom and is playing on her computer again? I hope she does not catch him chewing on the toys in I her "special" drawer of her nightstand agin!

You don't understand.

In their minds, what happens on the 40 Acres reflects the true culture of Texas, but the rest of the state isn't really Texan.

I agree that a recruit would prefer Austin to College Station. A recruit that prefers racial segregation, gay culture and activists, and doesn't really care about religion or sports.

For fans, the game is just a small part of the total experience. The look and feel of the stadium are important to fan experience...as is the food, the look of the bathrooms, the length of lines, the scoreboard, the parking, etc. In fact, what goes on in the field of play is just part of the side show that for many people begins with travel to town, tailgating, planning for the event, then being a Monday morning quarterback. While Sharp is a crass, self-promoter, the folks at A&M understand that the 10-12 minutes that play is going on during the actual game has to be supplemented by a lot of fluff to make the entire event a truly memorable experience.

Actually, this is the most articulate representation of how Aggies have found ways to deal with being losers on the field that I've ever seen.

It's not the actual game, it's the traditions.
It's not the actual game, it's the loudness of the Aggies.
It's not the actual game, it's winning half time!
It's not the actual game, it's the new stadium.
It's not the actual game, it's the conference you're associated with!!!! SEC, baby!!! We've arrived!
It's not the actual game, but even if it was, we've never "lost;" we've only been "out scored."

Who else but a loser comes up with so many euphemisms and attempted distractions from the reality of losing?

An historical trait of Texans is that they look hard at a cold fact and face it. Longhorns spit out defeat like poison and go all out to eradicate it. Aggies embrace defeat as a test of their character.

Not that there was ever much doubt, but which university better represents the state?

With their conformity, hostility to strangers, lack of self-awareness and overall humorlessness, Texas A&M is about the least Texan place in the whole state.
We aren't in their heads at all. Nossirree!! We aren't even "Texan" anymore.

I'm 40 years old (I'm a man!! /Gundy). In those 40 years, we have had 6 losing seasons. The whorns have had 7.

Honestly, are the Aggies so much better than the Horns right now? One more win in the win column doesn't speak that much in volumes. Is it because 6-6 for UT is unusual and 7-5 is an improvement for A&M?

Big 12-0: who's roster would you rather have come September? A&M, tu or TCEH?

Who's schedule would you rather have?

Who's stadium would you rather have?

Who's momentum and trajectory would you rather have?

Yes, we are not happy with our year last year. Significant loss of offensives talent including a Heisman winning QB and 3 1st round draft picks kinda hurt. Plus the youth movement on D as we try to build the depth we need. Plus, our DC wasn't cutting it. So we got one of the best. So, O was generally good (see Allen's games, not 59-0 with a QB that isn't on the roster anymore) but gets better with experience. D looks to see significant improvement with continued experience and improved coaching.

Texas, in the other hand, starts their youth movement on D, and has nothing to indicate the O is going to have significant improvements. In fact, strong doesn't even know who called the plays, so he can't fire the guy. There is nothing to indicate significant improvement, and much to indicate the D will take a step back. That is a bad position to be in.

That's easy: Texas Tech!

Stadium is quickly becoming the nicest in the conference.

We have a young head coach with Red Raider roots who want be going nowhere.

And like TCU, who went 4-8 in 2013 to co-win the conference and finish higher than any SEC team in the poll, Tech was also 4-8 and is destined to be "One True co-Champion" in 2015.

Indeed!

The shag thread is discussing bonfire as a mass murder, Columbine as our fault, mass murderers as Aggie-like in their psych analyses, building collapses as the end result of all Aggie engineers....

They have another losing season, they'll be blaming us for the Holocaust, Katrina, the drought in California, and the financial crisis of 2008.

Slightly aggravating, but then I think about how deeply frustrated and depressed they have to be to create such bizarre revenge fantasies.

Living well and happy in the SEC is sweet.
