Still, it was surprising to me that Strong thought a mediocre qb with concussion syndrome and injury-prone history of broken foot, broken ribs, and bad shoulder would make it thru the season.

We A&M grads knew Ash wouldn't make it thru 4-5 games max. Most of us felt Strong was risking Ash's health by playing him at all. I'm glad he finally hung it up.

I have no illusions about this being a successful year for Texas regarding wins and losses. A successful season? Winning 3 of the next 4: KSU, Tech, West Virginia and TCU and go a bowl game.

But I am happy with the direction of the program and who is in charge of the program.

Arkansas rolled over Tech in Lubbock. West Virginia beat Tech in Lubbock by a last minute FG. West Virginia just blew out Baylor, who beat TCU, who beat Oklahoma. I recognize that the transitive property is an iffy proposition in comparing teams. However, I fully believe that Arkansas would run over, around, and through pretty much any defense in the Big 12. The only team I think might beat them is Kansas State.

The Big 12 is bad, buddy. I'm not sure how you can't see that simply by watching the games. We'd "improve" a lot too by playing Iowa State.
