Well done sir. My only complaint is didn't we discuss discontinuation of the *** in the thread title so it didn't look like the other thread

I don't know where she's going, but I hope she never gets there.

And of all the YouTubes out there this is my favorite. I still want to put Hakeem ahead of Altuve for our greatest all-time athlete, but it's starting to get really tight,

If we did, I must have missed it. I just followed the same format I have the last two years.

Maybe we can have staff remove the *****s?

Haha. It was back when I accidentally posted that JV tweet on the other thread and got banned and was told if I do it again I'm gone for a year.

Well seeing as how we have our season thread FIRST, the strangers should remove THEIR asterisks to avoid confusion

Also- let me pick the brains of my fellow brethren.

My dad called me last night and said he wanted to take a weekend trip in August to a ballpark none of us have ever been to. I'm going to take him up on that.

He's only been to a handful, and I've been to quite a few.. so I don't mind repeating if it's somewhere he's never been.

He's mid 60s, doesn't drink, won't want to be out late. He enjoys sightseeing during the day and doesn't mind doing a lot of walking. I'm thinking Cubs/Cardinals at Wrigley but I want to make a list of 3 or 4 options for him to choose from. I'm likely paying for the trip but he doesn't know this yet.

Any ideas?

I mean they don't even use stars in their logos. Doesn't make sense for theirs to have them and ours not. Maybe they can just throw some extra T's on there.

1. Boston
  • Fenway my favorite ballpark to visit
  • City is very walkable and has a lot of history to see.
  • Astros play in Aug

2. Baltimore
  • Camden is awesome
  • City is much less desirable, but still a lot to do if it fits your dads interests (Babe Ruth musem, harbor, Fort McHenry, Edgar Allen Poe museum)
  • Astros play in Aug
  • probably a cheaper option

3. Chicago
  • Wrigley is right after Fenway
  • Big city with lots of stuff to do.
  • No Astros.

I second Camden Yards. I went before they moved the fence back in left field. That stadium is a sight, and Eutaw Street in front of the warehouse is special.

Plus, if you could swing it, Nationals Park is just a 45-minute train trip away. I haven't been to Nationals Park.

Fenway and Wrigley are the two others that come to mind.

If you are looking west, I'd say Coors. I haven't been there, but isn't there a nice entertainment district near it?

Oracle is supposed to be awesome. T-Mobile in Seattle is a decent park, and Seattle itself is a nice trip. Also, I hear PNC is beautiful.

I'd want to go to these:

For nostalgia and old-school baseball: Fenway, Wrigley
Because they seem like they'd be cool: Coors, Oracle, PNC
Others: T-Mobile, Truist, Yankee

I'm been to out of current stadiums: MMP (obviously), Oakland Coliseum (horrible), Citi Field (ok), Camden (AWESOME!), Marlins Park (boring, and not great to watch a game)

Camden is my favorite among the ones I've been to so far.

Fenway and Wrigley are the leaders in the clubhouse right now. My dad has always talked about how he wants to get to Wrigley.

Can't go wrong with either, but if he hasn't been to them then they should be the list. I've been to maybe a dozen ballparks (including old Yankee) and no other parks gave me the feeling of these two. They're special.

If Blanco stays in the rotation all year, then I think we are trading away another starter before the deadline hopefully for some prospects.

JV
Framber
Brown
France
Javier
Urquidy
Blanco

July: LMJ and Garcia

That is a lot of starting pitching. Not to mention Arrighetti.

Final Record: 93-69
Division Finish: 1st place
How Does it End: WS Champion
Team MVP: Bregman (contract year)
Team Cy Young: Javier
Biggest Surprise(s): Loperfido
Biggest Disappointment(s): Jose Abreu -- again
A Random Hot Take(s): Abreu has such a tough time that by the end of May, he's on the IL, then comes back as a bench bat. Loperfido assumes the 1B role and shines. Big Jon (though I hope he does well) is released in June.
