No worries Smith I don't even like the Mavs I think they are hilarious. Just trying to keep the discussion focused on the upcoming season. The offseason can be slow but it will be worth it once it starts and The Chelsea starts putting in work.

Mourinho is the king at playing the media. First he comments on how good a player Rooney is so of course he'd love to have him. Then he says he won't talk about Rooney the next day, but delicately inserts a pointed statement about how playing second fiddle for your club isn't good for the national team. Now he's talking about how clubs need to have loyalty to their players, just like the players are asked to be loyal to the club. Essien was the example he gave, but if you don't think he wasn't dropping Rooney a hint you're fooling yourself. I have definitely missed this guy.

I'm a Mourinho fan but those phrases are a bit pointless. They would have meaning if Rooney wasn't already unsettled but...he is. He's made it quite clear that he wants to leave.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes. SAF would have the balls to let Rooney play out his contract before selling him to a rival. I'm hopeful that he's instructing Moyes to do the same.
