The Canadian police filed charges against Todd Bertuzzi for his attack on Steve Moore during an NHL game in 2004. He was charged with "assault causing bodily harm." The attack did leave Moore with "three fractured vertebrae in his neck, a grade three concussion, vertebral ligament damage, stretching of the brachial plexus nerves, and facial lacerations."

Not saying that it's the same thing, since words are much less than physical assault, but there is precedent for criminal charges stemming from conduct within a game.

I wouldn't count us out of the title yet, but that's more because I wouldn't be surprised to see Man City collapse than I see us simply catching up.
