I ate at a Waffle House for the first time ever on the way home from Dallas this weekend. Had the steak n' eggs breakfast; was really, really good. 8/10 WTEat there again.

It is overrated. If anything, it just seems like a poor man's IHOP.

We went to one in SEC country. Biloxi Mississippi.
Ok at first then ma and pa pell mells came in and proceeded to chain smoke so we could get the genuine experience.
2/10 would get hash browns in non smoking city again.

Update: No problems with any practice to report.

It would be interesting to see how many Anus cheesburgers are sold per day.

A bit late but you might try their sweet tea---good but not overly sweet. Had some Christmas day in Bremen, GA, where, surprisingly, the place was filled. I thought people in transit only ate there on X-mas day, but apparently not.

The one on the North or South side of I-20? The Southern one was the set for the WH scene in Due Date. It's closed now I think. I'm sorry you had to meet the locals. Inbreeding for hundreds of years makes a special kind of people.

Look, I believe some folks are missing the point... You eat at waffle house for the same reason you eat at Taco Cabana at 3:00 in the morning.

I live in Atlanta. They are practically on every other corner. The most popular locations are the ones with the most eclectic midnight crowds. Food quality varies greatly between locations. It's just not the point.
If you do go, be sure to bang a lot of dishes together and clank your spoon in the coffee. "Diner noise" is part of the shtick. Enjoy.

Taco C is quality

They use to have an all you can eat and I believe some locations still do. They will pretty much fix you whatever you want. I even had a couple grilled cheeses as buns on bacon and cheese sandwich.
