R#1, in the first few rounds of the draft OC's are not looking for raw talent. They are looking for someone that is already there or close.

PS - He was a PREseason finalist.

Read the John Lopez article about JJ's draft potential and see how wrong you are.

They may be looking for raw talent, but in a QB, they look for decision making, especially in the early rounds.

At least after the FIU game.

Thanks, wonder if it would be revised now after the Arkie game and the Missouri game. Raw talent in a qb also needs to be that he can sometimes hit a receiver over 10 yards deep too. Haven't seen that in the last two games. Have seen a whole bunch of Jump Balls though. How a couple of them were caught in amongst the defenders still amazes me at how good our receiving corps is.

If he pulls a Reggie McNeal against ou rugs year he may still get drafted.
he has no chance of being drafted in any way, shape, or form.

If JJ had just a little more time in the pocket you would see a whole different quarterback. Sherm has acknowledged that the offensive line is a work in progress, and that JJ is having to deal with that as well.

If an NFL scout says JJ has an NFL arm, he immediately is discredited.

Question: has the Big 12 preseason offensive MVP ever not been drafted?

If Graham Harrell was the Preseason Offensive MVP in 2008, then yes.

Raw talent? NFL QB's that are drafted don't struggle to throw the ball 50 yards.

JJ struggles to get rid of the ball under 4 seconds and can't stand pressure around him. In the NFL you have 3 seconds AT MOST or you will get hit. Scouts, GM's and coaches will see that and his rag arm and ask for the TE and WR tape from his soph year.

There's no question that JJ will have to have some big games in the second half of the season to improve his draft stock as a QB. He'll get that chance. If he has another huge game against Texas and another big game against OU or Neb, scouts will have to re-evaluate him.

AgsR#1 is the most obvious troll in the history of TexAgs... How are you guys biting on this.

His name is even backhanded and stupid.

He is polarizing to one side of an argument to make you all polarize to the other and throw one of your players right the hell under the bus. Jerrod has played bad, but don't let some dick goad you into also being a dick.
