I used to work with a guy that drove the old southwest freeway every day. Every day he would complain about the traffic. Carry on for hours. Like it was something out of the ordinary. I would just shake my head and giggle.
Griping about getting sick at an Olive Garden seems very similar.

And how long after eating before the symptoms hit? IIRC, food poisoning symptoms are exhibited within a hour or two.
