Back in the day ,

Old Heidelberg was the best.

Not in Houston, but not far away is Karl's In Richmond. Technically Swiss, not German but the food is great and he also has lots of wild game dishes on the menu. And, one of the best Sunday Brunches in the area.

King's was wonderful. Sit on the patio.

My husband came back from the restroom with our boys and asked me what was on the walls in the ladies room - I said pictures of Nuschwanstein and other German castles.... I asked why, and he told me the men's room had pictures of beer girls....

No wonder my oldest kept needing to go to the bathroom.......
