We have a kiddo starting kindergarten next year. We are zoned for Mitchell and have liked it for pre-k. We are considering enrolling in Johnson for the dual language program or ILT for their language offerings.

We would appreciate any anecdotes or recommendations!

Have always heard great things about the dual language program at Thompson. On the other hand, have not heard very many good things about ILTexas. Inexperienced teachers, no supplies, underdeveloped curriculum, etc. But that was when they first opened some years ago...have not heard if they've gotten better since then.

Johnson and the dual language is good.

Johnson and Mitchell are both very good

We tried to transfer to Mitchell from the school we are zoned to. BISD told us we wouldn't because Mitchell is an underperforming school. In looking at the data from the state, I only found 1 area they were "under" on, and it had nothing to do with academics (if that helps).

We have friends whose kid is in the dual language program at Johnson and they love it!

Out of curiosity though, does Mitchell zone to Johnson for dual language? I figured it would go elsewhere.
