Went down that path. Tried with two different antennas. Back in the day you there were people who put up antennas for us rural folk. Wanting to find someone who can do it. The DIY route isn't working for me, either because I have the wrong equipment, or it's not high enough.
Does anyone know someone who does antenna work?
You can call these guys if you don't have any luck locally. They will answer questions and can make recommendations if you are willing to talk to them. They also have a wealth of information on their website.

http://dennysantennaservice.com/tv-antenna-attic-installation.htmlAll antennas are not equal. Height helps and size helps. I put one of the big ones in my attic in my old house and could pick up Houston and Austin stations at night from College Station. You should be able to get FOX, CBS and PBS fairly easily. The ABC channel has a really weak signal.
Here is another web site that helps with where the local antennas are located. You have to have your antenna pointed in the right direction to receive them.
