Looking for some suggestions on local country or Americana bands worth checking out.

I'm familiar with Clayton Gardner, Cody Joe Hodges, Austin English, Nick Verzosa, Morgan and Sara, Joe Tiechman, Austin Meade, and Kaytle Hamilin.

Anybody I'm missing out on that's worth going to see or listen to?

Oh yeah, those guys! The guitarist and bassist also have another band called The Inators - they play at Rev fairly regularly, if you're, like, into music and junk that's not country.

Five piece Texas Country band. Four of them are students at A&M. Only been playing about a year but I think they're planning on releasing and album and some radio singles about the time the students come back in the Fall.

You guys will probably hate us all because we're not country, but these are definitely BCS bands who are worth checking out.

If you like 80s/90s indie stuff like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Swervedriver, et al, check out local heroes (and heroine) the Ex-Optimists (also playing at Rev at First Friday tonight!).

And if you'd be into the Ramones if they were tough girls instead of weird dudes, check out girlband!

To go with that, lots of great indie/rock/punk/??? bands play at The Stafford and Revolution Cafe all the time.

Loud!Fest 2016 is coming up in May and looks to be awesome as always.

Mando Salas is great. He plays a variety of country, Americana and classic rock. He is a solo act but in addition to vocals and guitar, he plays harmonica and converted a suitcase into a kick drum and tambourine. It is pretty awesome. He has been playing a lot around Texas...I believe he is at World of Beer in College Station tomorrow from 9-12.
