How long do they migrate in the area he is getting annoying!

What area are you in? I've never heard one and would like to.
I've been trying to hear one all spring! They should be moving out in the next week or two. Chuck-will's-widows are also in the area.
After some coffee, it occurred to me that Chucks and Whips don't really call that long this time of year- usually just for a few minutes at dusk and/or dawn. It shouldn't be that bothersome- are you sure you don't have a Mockingbird doing a good impression? Those guys will stay up all night singing!

I've had both, PWW & CWW, around my place all winter. They had a terrific volley the other night.

Its been singing outside our window just about every night the last couple of nights. These suckers are loud! Nice song, but loud!

I stopped by your general area on my way home last night, RX- great golly goatsuckers! You've got a ton of Chuck-will's-widows out there! They're a summer resident and setting up their breeding grounds right now. They should do a number on any flying insects in the area. Things should quiet down once they get settled in. I did hear one faint, distant Eastern Whip-poor-will calling very briefly too. They'll be moving further north in the next few weeks.

I walk near the new school, and I've heard several Chuck-will's-widows. Thought they were Whip-poor-wills as well, but the song is definitely like the Chuck-will's.
