I know of some teachers who live in BCS that teach in Navasota, Hearne, etc. I think the pay is much lower but it may be a stepping stone to then transfer into BISD or CSISD. It is hard to get a teaching job in this area because of all the graduates from A&M.

ZH I am not sure about conditions for BISD but I have heard they have a lot of turnover every year. Perhaps that is why. And yeah sometimes I feel like I should have been a plumber or mechanic as well, but I love computers too much!
