I also tried Leslie's, they were ok, but not a big fan either. I'm sticking with Jesse's Taqueria in Bryan. I think the number is 485-9841

Jesse's are great. Given all the interest, maybe we should organize a my BCS tamale making get together? I'm actually almost serious.
Best tamales bar none is Delia's from the valley. They will ship go online and order. I'm had from several places locally. No comparison.

There is a little lady that sale's tamales outa the back of her van at the Harlen's in Waller, we made a deal with her each wild pig we bring her we get at least 4 dozen tamales. They are excellent.
I wasn't able to provide my MIL's info in Navasota on the thread before it was gone. But if anyone wants good tamales, she has them. Let me know and I'll get you the info.

La Familia at barron has tamales on Fridays and Saturdays usually - but call to make sure and reserve as they sell out fast
I tried Jesse Taqueria yesterday morning and loved both breakfast tacos I got BUT I can't say the same about the tamales, the masa was dried and too much cumin spice. Lesle in my opinion makes the best white cheese and jalapeno tamales!!!!!
I agree about Jesse's; I tried them and was disappointed. My mom swears tamales differ by region in Texas; I grew up in Corpus and have a preference for those. The closest I found were at the HEB on Villa Maria, which only appear sporadically.
