I've gone back and forth between a desktop and laptop, and since I don't need anything extremely powerful I think I've decided to spend the extra money to have something portable.

I've been looking but seem to be going in circles...can't decide on one laptop or even where to purchase. Would really appreciate some suggestions.

Wishlist:

• 15 inch or larger screen
• Traditional lap top (no touch screen or tablet features)
• Able to perform photo and video editing efficiently
• Price ~1500 or below

It was the latest and greatest when I got it early 2014. I know the processor is dated somewhat compared ot the new stuff but trust me it is still plenty good enough for what it sounds like you need it for.
I got it when I was contracting and wanted to play video games in my hotel room. Which I did for about 6 months before I quit and then it has been in my closet since.

It's a gaming laptop so it will handle photo and video editing no problem. Have had zero issues with it. But now that I stay at home I have no need for it at all with my PC and Surface for school stuff. I ahve been thinking of selling it so let me know if you might be interested.

ETA: Mine is actually the next price tier up with upgraded 1 TB SATA HD instead of the 750. Oh and it was Windows 7 that I just recently upgraded to Win10. It is NOT Win8.

I think the only difference might be that I added a SSD drive to the config, and the amazon just mentioned that there's a slot. may not matter for your needs.
