So then my plan was just to play dumb and never open it but I got a text from the host today asking if I'd seen the formal invite. So I opened it and explained that I have already had Covid and have natural immunity with no plans to take the vaccine and that if he wanted me to I would take a proof of negative test day of and if that wouldn't fly no big deal and I'd just catch everybody some other time (as idiotic as it all is). I'm also friends with this guy on FB and my posting history is all out there so it's not like I could fake it or do a sudden 180 on the whole topic.

Much to my amazement, he just replied very nicely that I could no longer be admitted. He said he's lost two friends to Covid and that there will be some older people there in their 50s and 60s so they made the decision to have everyone vaxxed since "it's indoors in January and they'll be unlikely to open up any windows" but that he looks forward to hanging again at an outdoor event.

Mind you, this is from a well educated and highly successful individual. I told him no big deal because he's more of an acquaintance and I wasn't going to argue with him even though a proof of negative test is a lot better insurance than people that were getting the vaccine as soon as they could in Texas back in March or whenever. Does he not know that vaxxed are still catching and spreading Covid?

The entire thing is utterly nonsensical and I'm now considering sending him an anonymous copy of "The Real Anthony Fauci" if I can only find one for sale.

And the real kicker was that the host informed me in his reply that I was the very first one on the guest list. Sadly I'm now the first one out. This is the first time I've experienced this. Hell, I just went to three Billy Strings shows that were sold out elbows to *******s in HOU>AUS>DAL with nobody wearing masks, no proof of vax or negative test, and nobody giving a damn.

TL;DR The media + the Biden administration + Fauci have really done a number on so many normally smart people. Sad how uninformed a ton of them still are after nearly two years of this bull*****

Hot hot fire. I have a bunch of great photos I've been meaning to post on the Entertainment board 2021 Concerts thread. Covid barely still exists in my mind after going from squeezing into Kyle Field with 109K or Moody at ACL with 2,500 indoors. Whatever. If anything good has come out of this situation it's that a few people reading this thread have now been turned onto Billy Strings.

I haven't even talked to my buddy that's playing the thing yet but the conversation is inevitable. I'll definitely explain that I respect everyone's space and that I also offered to take a Covid test for the first time in my life if it made someone feel more comfortable and that takes a lot coming from me and my compassion card still got declined.

When "educated people" believe that the vaccination is an inoculation, they arent actually educated. They are willfully ignorant.

I was talking to some random person in a restaurant the other day and he said he actually 'disinvited' someone to a small gathering at his house because the other person WAS vaccinated. He said he explained to the guy that he didn't completely trust the vaccine and that, given the increase in infection rate among the vaccinated, he didn't want the guy shedding whatever he had injected into his body around his unvaccinated family. He framed it as though he was a little bit concerned that the vaccinated guy might infect his unvaccinated family with something.

Apparently, the vaccinated guy was a little surprised by his response. It got me thinking that there is a whole section of society that is "afraid" of the unvaccinated... But, the tables could start turning whereby the unvaccinated want to distance themselves from the vaccinated due to other unknowns. I guess the peer pressure to get vaccinated has seemed one-sided and now maybe the pressure (not from the media, but from peers) may start being applied in both directions.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this since it was a twist I had not heard before...

reminds me of trying to crash a frat party in college. They wouldn't let us in so my friend called the cops and said people in the area were throwing beer cans at cars driving by. The party didnt last much longer after that.

There are a lot of Californians (Bay Area and LA) and New Yorkers who would have a heart attack if they saw that "unsafe" photo.

i doubt he'd even wake up to the facts if - with a house full of only vaxxed people - the elderly couple still caught the virus and died.

I had a family member invite the family to their house for Thanksgiving. We were all welcome, as long as we were vaccinated.

They werent comfortable 'mixing households' yet. <eye roll>

Their reason to require vaccination, was that they work in the medical-related field, and wanted to be responsible and prevent the spread to their customers.

My reply was simply...so what does that have to do with the vaccine?

I meant more formal than the basic text message I received weeks ago telling me about the event and asking if I could attend. This one laid out the full itinerary and logistics of the thing including the vaccine mandate and was rather lengthy.

It's not like some huge function that needs save the date cards professionally made if that's how it sounded.

Anyway, can't recommend this video enough to any Billy fans. Watched it live on Halloween and it's phenomenal. Coincidentally said musician friend covered Dark Side of the Moon note for note by himself on every single instrument used on the album with his crazy looping setup just last month. I'll figure out how to post that soon for anybody that wants to watch to see I'm not talking about some guy in the next cubicle over.
